After Aetna News, Connecticut Democrat Gubernatorial Candidates Stay Silent

While Failed Democrat Governor Dan Malloy has been all over the news in the wake of Aetna’s plans to move its headquarters out of Connecticut in response to the state’s job killing policies and tax hikes, the Democrat candidates hoping to succeed him are nowhere to be found. None of the declared or potential Democrat gubernatorial candidates have spoken out publicly about the news that Aetna plans to leave the state, or its potentially crushing impact on the state’s business climate.

Despite having declared his candidacy over a month ago, Connecticut Comptroller and Malloy accomplice Kevin Lembo appears to have gone into hiding, giving no public statements on the Aetna news or the worsening budget crisis facing the state. Also silent has been Nancy Wyman, Malloy’s lieutenant governor, who recently announced that she is nearing a decision on entering the gubernatorial race.

While it’s clear that Dan Malloy’s Democrat allies are desperate to stay out of the limelight to avoid the stench of their Failed Governor’s policies, it’s also clear that they have nothing to offer the people of Connecticut when it comes to solving the massive economic challenges they are facing. The silence from Malloy’s potential Democrat successors further proves how incapable their party is at providing effective leadership.
