WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association announced today that Kevin Wright has joined the organization as its Research Director, assuming responsibility for the RGA’s research strategy in the 36 gubernatorial races of the 2014 cycle.
“Kevin comes to the RGA with a wealth of experience and leadership in the field of political research,” said RGA Executive Director Phil Cox. “As part of our team, Kevin’s talent will be put to good use highlighting and exposing Democratic governors and candidates for their failed policies and unfulfilled promises as we campaign to preserve the solid foundation Republican governors have built for their states. He will be an integral player in that important mission.”
Wright, founder of Old Dominion Research Group, began his research career in the office of former Vice President Dan Quayle’s leadership committee, Campaign America. Wright later joined the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s research team, in which he helped Republicans regain the Senate majority in 2002 and grow the majority in 2004, while knocking off Minority Leader Tom Daschle that same year.
“I am very proud to join the Republican Governors Association for what promises to be a very important 2014 election cycle,” Wright said. “Republican governors are achieving real results in their states and I’m excited to highlight the direct contrast of their leadership versus Washington D.C. and Democratic governors.”
