Since Gretchen Whitmer took office, Michigan has seen a devastating rise in violent crime, and Michiganders have taken notice
In 2022 alone, Grand Rapids has recorded over 760 assaults and 15 homicides, both above average, Flint is currently investigating its 25th murder of the year, and Oakland County has seen twice as many homicides in the first six months of 2022 as it did in 2021.
Not to mention, Detroit has endured five major shootings over the last three months alone.
By supporting the “spirit” of the defund the police movement and ending qualified immunity, refusing to condemn dangerous rhetoric from Democrats like Rashida Tlaib, and calling for the abolishment of law enforcement agencies, Whitmer has caused police morale to plummet and encouraged violent crime to rise.
“Gretchen Whitmer’s words and actions have created an environment for violent crime across Michigan to skyrocket and families have taken notice,” said RGA Spokesman Chris Gustafson. “Simply put, by sidestepping the issue and refusing to condemn her allies, Whitmer has made Michigan less safe. Voters across Michigan know it’s time to elect a leader who will back law enforcement, and that leader is Tudor Dixon.”
