Stacey Abrams is rattled. Her campaign is working overtime to attempt to convince voters she won’t defund the police as governor. Abrams’ latest ad paints a picture of a candidate who is supported by Georgia law enforcement. But the reality is far different:
- Abrams continues to serve as board member of a foundation seeking to abolish the police, despite multiple calls for her to resign.
- After Abrams joined the foundation, the board increased their anti-law enforcement funding with her support.
- Over 100 Georgia sheriffs condemned Abrams over her defund the police ties.
“There is no way around it: a candidate who supports and is supported by law enforcement would not serve on the board of a foundation that seeks to abolish the police,” said RGA Spokeswoman Maddie Anderson. “Regardless of what she says in her ads, if Stacey Abrams won’t resign from the board, she does not support law enforcement — full stop.”
