Month after month, Republican states have led the nation with the lowest unemployment rates because of their measured pandemic response that kept businesses open, kids in school, and allowed for personal responsibility. Nearly two years into the pandemic, Americans realize now more than ever that they can’t afford life under Democrat control thanks to the highest increases in cost of living in four decades, their job-killing mandates, and barring children from the classroom.
It is no coincidence that red states rank in the top for lowest unemployment, attract businesses to support the best job growth, and have the highest rates of people moving to their states. December brought record job growth for states like Texas and record-low unemployment rates in states like Nebraska and Georgia, with five times as many GOP-led states below the national unemployment rate average than Democrat-led states.
In December, the top states with the lowest unemployment rates were all Republican-led including:
- Nebraska
- Utah
- Oklahoma
- Idaho
- Montana
- Vermont
- Georgia
- New Hampshire
- South Dakota
- Indiana
The states with some of the highest unemployment rates are Democrat-led including:
- California
- Nevada
- New Jersey
- New York
- New Mexico
- Connecticut
- Hawaii
- Michigan
- Pennsylvania
- Illinois
