Florida Democrats Don’t Stand a Chance Next Year

On Tuesday, a Democrat candidate for governor lost in a deep blue state Joe Biden had won by over 10% just last year. To say that doesn’t bode well for the floundering field of Democrats in the Florida gubernatorial race – where Biden lost handily – would be a massive understatement.

As the RGA outlined in our pre-Election Day memo earlier this week, Democrat governors and candidates in states where President Biden had the same or a smaller margin than Virginia are in big trouble. For candidates in red states like Florida that were already anxious, it’s an overwhelming blow.

“Florida Democrats already felt defeated about their chances next year, but Tuesday’s results in a deep blue state underscore how they really don’t stand a chance,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Floridians are frustrated with effects of Biden’s failed leadership – from the rising costs of living due to bad federal economic policies, to a border crisis that’s allowing fatal drugs to flow into their neighborhoods, to threats and job-killing regulations. Florida voters know the only way to keep their state free and prosperous in the face of Biden’s overreach and bad judgement is by re-electing Ron DeSantis.”
