Texas GOP Governor Greg Abbott Cracks Down on Human Trafficking

GOP Governor Greg Abbott is cracking down on human trafficking and making his state safer for all Texans.

This week, Governor Abbott signed several new bills that will both fight human trafficking and increase support for victims in Texas. The legislation includes provisions that will enhance tools to fight online sex trafficking, direct seized funds from stash houses to victim aid resources, and expand victim access to specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.

Governor Abbott’s Office will also create a Sexual Assault Survivors’ Task Force in order to coordinate statewide efforts to strategically address sexual assault. Under Governor Abbott’s strong leadership, Texas has become a national leader for ensuring protections for citizens and justice for victims.
