Ohio Democrat gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray continues to mislead Ohio voters on his support for tax hikes.
In a new TV ad, Cordray claims that he would impose “no new taxes” if elected governor. But just last week, The Columbus Dispatch reported that Cordray said he would “harvest additional taxes” on the people of Ohio to pay for his spending plans. This came after Ohio legislative leaders criticized the $4 billion annual price tag of Cordray’s agenda, which they warned could only be paid for through higher taxes on working families across the state. This is in addition to a recent report from The Cincinnati Enquirer, who also noted that Cordray has endorsed raising taxes as a means to pay for other government spending.
As Republican nominee Mike DeWine campaigns on fiscally sound proposals that would not raise taxes, Cordray continues to mislead Ohioans about his tax-and-spend agenda. He can’t be trusted to lead.
