WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released two new television advertisements in the Michigan governor’s race today, highlighting Democrat Gretchen Whitmer’s support for a radical government takeover of healthcare and her record of taking thousands of dollars of perks from lobbyists.

“Gretchen Whitmer is worst kind of politician,” said RGA Spokesman John Burke. “Throughout her career, Whitmer has demonstrated that she’s too out-of-touch to lead. She took thousands of dollars in perks from lobbyists, putting special interests ahead of Michigan families, and now, Whitmer wants a radical government takeover of healthcare, which would lead to higher taxes and outlaw employer-provided insurance plans. Michigan can’t afford Gretchen Whitmer’s out-of-touch policies.”
