WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released a new television advertisement in the Michigan governor’s race today, highlighting Gretchen Whitmer’s failure to fix Michigan’s roads while imposing costly tax hikes on working families.

“Gretchen Whitmer and Jennifer Granholm promised to fix Michigan’s roads by charging higher taxes on working families, but failed to keep their word,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “Whitmer and Granholm raised taxes, did nothing to address the state’s crumbling roads and bridges, and now Whitmer is once again calling for higher taxes while offering the same empty promises. Whitmer already failed Michigan once before and shouldn’t be given the chance to do so again.”

Career politicians Gretchen Whitmer and Jennifer Granholm promised to “fix the damn roads.”
All we had to do was pay higher taxes.
They raised taxes, but didn’t fix our crumbling roads and bridges.
Now Whitmer’s back, wanting even higher taxes and fees.
Promising to fix the roads this time.
We’ve all heard that bad sales pitch before, and we got stuck with a lemon.
With Gretchen Whitmer at the wheel, Michigan will only go in reverse.
