New Poll: New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu Holds Strong 61% Job Rating, Leads Dem Opponents By Double-Digits

New polling shows New Hampshire voters continue to strongly approve of GOP Governor Chris Sununu’s job performance.

The latest poll by the University of New Hampshire shows that Governor Sununu holds a strong 61% job approval rating and that he leads both of his potential Democrat challengers by double-digit margins. The poll also revealed that 72 percent of New Hampshire voters feel the state is on the right track with Governor Sununu in office.

As Governor Sununu continues to fight for job growth, improved education and expanded opportunity for the people of his state, New Hampshire voters are making it clear that they support his common-sense bipartisan leadership.

WMUR-TV reports:

“Gov. Chris Sununu continues to have high personal and job approval ratings and leads each of his potential Democratic general election challengers by double-digits, according to a new poll released Monday.

The University of New Hampshire Survey Center found in its Granite State Poll that Sununu’s approval rating has bumped up slightly to 61 percent, from 59 percent in April…

The polling sample included 54 percent registered undeclared Granite Staters, 24 percent registered Democrats and 22 percent registered Republicans. But 45 percent of those polled identified themselves as Democrats, 37 percent viewed themselves as Republicans and 19 percent identified themselves as independents, according to the survey center.

The poll did not include a head-to-head matchup between the two Democratic candidates in the Sept. 11 primary, former state Sen. Molly Kelly and former Portsmouth Mayor Steve Marchand. Sununu faces no Republican primary opposition.

Pitted against Sununu in general election matchups, the results were similar for the two Democrats. The poll found that 48 percent of likely voters would choose Sununu in the general election and 32 percent would favor Kelly, with 20 percent undecided or favoring another candidate.

In a Sununu-Marchand contest, 48 percent of likely voters would choose the incumbent, while 33 percent would vote for Marchand, with 19 percent undecided or favoring another candidate…

The poll found that 72 percent of Granite Staters think the state is on the right track, while 18 percent said the state was heading in the wrong direction.”
