Malloy Enabler Ned Lamont Owes Connecticut Voters Answers For How He’d Pay For $32 Trillion Single-Payer Plan

Connecticut Democrat gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont supports bringing an expensive Single-Payer healthcare system to Connecticut that would eliminate private insurance for families, but still won’t explain how he’d pay for it. Lamont has claimed that he will “champion” Single-Payer, and when asked to give a yes or no answer on implementing Single-Payer at a forum in March, Lamont responded with an emphatic “yes.”

The Associated Press reports that a new study shows a “Medicare-for-all” Single-Payer system would cost an estimated $32.6 trillion over 10 years and lead to historic tax hikes on working families who would be forced to foot the bill for the program. This comes just weeks after a nonpartisan study on a state level Single-Payer plan in Maryland also showed that such a proposal would lead to massive tax increases.

With multiple studies now showing just how much Single-Payer would burden working families if imposed at the state or federal level, Lamont owes Connecticut voters a clear answer on how he plans to pay for his costly proposal in a state already struggling after nearly eight years of endless Democrat tax hikes.
