A new poll shows Republican gubernatorial nominee Ed Gillespie in strong position in the Virginia governor’s race. In the first independent post-primary poll, done by Harper Polling, Gillespie and Democrat nominee Ralph Northam are tied at 46 percent each, firmly indicating that the race remains a toss-up. The poll also reveals that of voters leaning toward each candidate, Gillespie currently has a 12 percent lead over Northam.
As Ed Gillespie promotes his vision to promote job creation and expand opportunity for all Virginians, Democrat Ralph Northam’s far-left extremist platform will continue to alienate voters and further prove how out of touch he is with the general electorate.
POLITICO reports:
“A new survey of Virginia’s gubernatorial race by the GOP firm Harper Polling has Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam and former RNC Chair Ed Gillespie tied at 46 percent of the vote.
It’s the second GOP poll this week to show a close race, after an internal poll from Gillespie’s campaign. Earlier public polls from Quinnipiac University and the Washington Post showed Northam with a double-digit lead in matchups with Gillespie.”
