WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released the following statement congratulating Governor Terry Branstad on his confirmation as the United States Ambassador to China, and thanking him for his many years of service to the people of Iowa.
“As America’s longest-serving governor, Governor Terry Branstad has shown strong and effective leadership for the people of Iowa, and he will continue that effectiveness for the American people as United States Ambassador to China,” said RGA Chairman Governor Scott Walker. “Governor Branstad has represented the people of Iowa honorably for more than 20 years and there is little doubt he will do the same as America’s next Ambassador to China. The RGA thanks Governor Branstad for his outstanding service as governor and we look forward to working with him in his new capacity.”
