North Carolina’s positive economic outlook continues to grow thanks to GOP Governor Pat McCrory’s strong pro-business leadership. In releasing their annual rankings of the Top States for Business, CNBC announced this morning that North Carolina is ranked as the No. 5 Top State for Business of 2016, jumping 4 spots from 2015′s ranking at No. 9. This is a direct result of Gov. McCrory’s determination to drive the Carolina Comeback using conservative pro-jobs policies, and as this ranking shows, he gets results.

The big countdown for America’s Top State for Business 2016 continues all day today on CNBC as special correspondent Scott Cohn unveils this year’s rankings.
The Tar Heel State comes in at No. 5 on our annual list.
North Carolina’s best category ranking is access to capital — the second best in the nation. Money flowed into the state last year both from venture capital and small-business loans and helped bump the state from No. 9 in 2015 to Top 5 this year.
