RGA Statement on Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s Announcement That He Will Seek Re-Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Governors Association Chairman Governor Bill Haslam issued the following statement tonight regarding Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s announcement that he will seek a second term:

“With a strong focus on fiscal responsibility, economic development and opportunity for all Hoosiers, Governor Mike Pence is getting results and making Indiana a state that works. During his two and a half years in office, Indiana has seen more than 120,000 new private sector jobs added, its unemployment rate dropped to its lowest point in seven years, the largest tax cut in state history and earned the distinction as the most business-friendly state in the Midwest. Thanks to his leadership, Governor Pence is in strong position to win a second term and build upon his success of moving Indiana forward. The Republican Governors Association is proud to support Governor Pence for re-election.”
