ICYMI…Glenn Youngkin has been endorsed by 50 Virginia sheriffs and the Virginia Police Benevolent Association.
Let’s take a quick look at Terry McAuliffe’s record of supporting law enforcement and safe communities:
- McAuliffe refused to meet with the Virginia Police Benevolent Association. The VPBA has a history of endorsing candidates on both sides of the aisle.
- McAuliffe was “proud” to be endorsed by a radical group that openly supports defunding the police, believes all police officers are white supremacists, and supports abolishing all prisons and ICE.
- When McAuliffe was governor, violent crime rates, including murders and rapes, increased by 10%.
…all this despite the fact that Virginia’s murder rate has hit a 20-year high.
“The murder rate in Virginia is at a two-decade high, and only one candidate in the gubernatorial race is willing to work with law enforcement to crack down on violent crime and keep families safe: Glenn Youngkin,” said RGA Spokesperson Maddie Anderson. “While Virginia families are worried about the safety of their communities, Terry McAuliffe’s repeated snubs to law enforcement and his embrace of radical defund the police groups is deeply inappropriate and irresponsible. McAuliffe must apologize to the law enforcement community and give voters some idea of what he would do to restore law and order in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
