2021 BLS Report Shows Republican Governors Got America Back To Work

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ 2021 state employment analysis revealed that Republican-led states held their position as the top states with the lowest unemployment rates, with twice as many GOP-led states below the national average unemployment rate than Democrat-led states.

8 of the top 10 states with the LOWEST unemployment rates in 2021 were all led by Republican governors including:

• Nebraska
• Utah
• South Dakota
• Montana
• Vermont
• Alabama
• New Hampshire
• Indiana
• Idaho

9 of the top 10 states with the HIGHEST unemployment were led by Democrat governors including:

• California
• Nevada
• New York
• New Mexico
• Pennsylvania
• New Jersey
• Connecticut
• Illinois
• Michigan

“What President Biden failed to mention during the fantasy he tried to paint last night, is that America’s economic recovery has been championed by Republican governors and the freedom-loving workers and small business owners in their states,” said RGA Communications Director Jesse Hunt. “While Democrats played politics, overstepped their authority, and kept businesses shuttered and children out of school, red states topped the charts with the lowest unemployment rates and greatest job growth.
