It’s been just two months since School Resource Officer Erik Clark stopped what could have been a fatal shooting at Olathe East High School when a student with a gun shot both him and an administrator. Yet today, Governor Laura Kelly’s Commission on Racial Equity and Justice recommended the Kansas State Board of Education consider alternatives to SRO’s.

“For Democrat Laura Kelly to continue to support her Commission’s recommendation to explore alternatives to school resource officers just weeks after one stopped a school shooting is out-of-touch and completely irresponsible,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kelly’s desperation to appease her woke base goes beyond rhetoric and could quite literally risk lives in Kansas.”
