RGA Statement on Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s Re-Election Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Governors Association Chairman Chris Christie issued the following statement regarding Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s announcement that he will seek re-election:

“Wisconsin is moving forward under Governor Scott Walker, and his record of reform speaks volumes about what the courageous, principled leadership of a Republican governor can accomplish at the state level. Unemployment is down, job creation is up and the Badger State economy is stronger today because he put common sense conservative policy to work. The tough decisions Governor Walker has made in his first term thus far turned a $3.6 billion budget deficit into a growing surplus, allowing for nearly $2 billion in tax relief for the hard working people of Wisconsin. This is a governor who gets things done.  In Scott Walker’s Wisconsin, government works, ideas win and true independence from big government is within reach. Because his state is headed in the right direction and there’s more work to do, the Republican Governors Association is proud to support Governor Scott Walker’s re-election campaign.”
