Colin Van Ostern Snubbed By Democrat Leaders

Malloy, Hillary, Bernie, Warren Ignore Dem Gov Nominee In New Hampshire

In a recent poll, nearly 70 percent of New Hampshire voters don’t know who Democrat gubernatorial nominee Colin Van Ostern is. To Van Ostern’s dismay, the leaders of his Party seem to be in the same boat.

Earlier this week, Senator Elizabeth Warren visited New Hampshire for a rally, in which she promoted Democrats Maggie Hassan, Carol Shea-Porter and Hillary Clinton – but ignored Van Ostern, with no mention of him when she encouraged New Hampshire Democrats to turn out on Election Day – even with Van Ostern in the audience.

And then, when Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders visited New Hampshire this past Wednesday, they also promoted Hassan and Shea-Porter at their joint rally – but again – no mention of support for Van Ostern.

And now today, we learn Connecticut’s Democrat Governor Dan Malloy – the Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association and chief person in charge of electing Democrat governors – is visiting New Hampshire tonight in support of Hillary Clinton and Maggie Hassan. But like the others, Malloy has no plans to fundraise for, appear with, or support Van Ostern. When the Chairman of the DGA, Presidential nominee and two other top leaders of your Party come to your state and ignore you – it doesn’t exactly exude confidence in your campaign.

“Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will travel to New Hampshire Friday night to speak to Democrats in support of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Malloy is one of several scheduled speakers at the Portsmouth, N.H. Democratic Committee’s annual banquet. Joining him will be New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hasan, who is locked in a tight race for U.S. Senate with Kelly Ayotte, a Republican seeking her second term, and other candidates.” (Russell Blair, “Malloy To Stump For Clinton In New Hampshire,” Hartford Courant, 9/30/16)
