RGA’s Blue State Madness Bracket Challenge Narrows To Final Two

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association announced today the final two Democrats left standing in the Blue State Madness Bracket Challenge:  Governor Pat Quinn of Illinois and Democrat Charlie Crist, candidate for Governor of Florida.

Over the course of the last few weeks, visitors to the Blue State Madness site have selected, through head-to-head matchups, the Democrats whose policies they believe have inspired the most madness in the states. After four rounds of voting, Governor Pat Quinn and his ruinous Illinois economy are set to face off against Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist, a chronic flip-flopper who drove Florida’s economy into the ground.

It’s a clash of blue state titans, and the winner of this week’s matchup will be crowned “champion,” the most maddening of all Democrats vying to be elected governor this year.

“Governor Pat Quinn and Charlie Crist have reached the final round of this bracket challenge for good reason; when it comes to the blue state model of governing, their records and policies are simply the worst of the worst,” said RGA Communications Director Gail Gitcho. “This November, voters in Illinois, Florida and every blue state across the country will have a chance to reject this type of destructive governance, opting instead to go the way of prosperity, opportunity and economic vitality through the leadership of a Republican governor.”
