WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Republican governors released a joint statement urging Congress to pass permitting reform legislation:
“Republican governors are working every day to cut red tape, increase investment, and make our states the best places in the world to build, innovate, and do business. Unfortunately, outdated federal bureaucracy continues to delay critical energy and infrastructure projects and drive up costs for hardworking families at a time when speed and efficiency matter most.
“The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act is an opportunity to change that. By bringing greater certainty and accountability to the permitting process, we can unleash American energy dominance, strengthen our grid, bring manufacturing and investment back home, and ensure the United States leads the next generation of economic growth.
“Republican governors urge Congress to act swiftly, pass meaningful permitting reform, and send this legislation to President Trump’s desk.”
Signatories include: Governor Kay Ivey (AL), Governor Mike Dunleavy (AK), Governor Sarah Sanders (AR), Governor Brian Kemp (GA), Governor Brad Little (ID), Governor Mike Braun (IN), Governor Kim Reynolds (IA), Governor Jeff Landry (LA), Governor Tate Reeves (MS), Governor Mike Kehoe (MO), Governor Greg Gianforte (MT), Governor Jim Pillen (NE), Governor Joe Lombardo (NV), Governor Kelly Armstrong (ND), Governor Kevin Stitt (OK), Governor Jennifer González-Colón (PR), Governor Henry Dargan McMaster (SC), Governor Larry Rhoden (SD), Governor Bill Lee (TN), Governor Spencer Cox (UT), Governor Patrick Morrisey (WV), and Governor Mark Gordon (WY).
