RGA Statement On The Indiana Gubernatorial Primary

The Republican Governors Association released the following statement tonight regarding the results of the Indiana gubernatorial primary:

“Thanks to Governor Mike Pence’s strong, conservative leadership throughout his first term in office, Indiana truly is a state that works,” said RGA Chair Governor Susana Martinez. “His top priority since he was elected was to make Indiana one of the top states to do business in the country and he has done just that by lowering taxes, reforming education, improving the state’s infrastructure and growing jobs. The RGA is proud to support Governor Pence for re-election and is confident that Hoosier voters will elect him to a second term so he can build upon the tremendous progress he has already accomplished.”

“By selecting John Gregg as their nominee in this year’s election, Indiana Democrats have selected a flip-flopping candidate who refuses to take a stand on the issues that are most important to Indiana,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “In addition to being one of Hillary Clinton’s top supporters, Gregg is allowing Labor Unions to bankroll his campaign, demonstrating that his priorities lie with advancing their liberal agenda rather than fighting for hardworking, tax-paying Hoosiers. Electing John Gregg as governor would send Indiana straight to the bottom.”
