RGA Releases New TV Ad In Louisiana Runoff

WASHINGTON, D.C. – RGA Right Direction PAC, an organization supported by the Republican Governors Association (RGA), today released its second television ad in the Louisiana runoff election. Titled “Really Angry,” the ad exposes John Bel Edwards’ record of siding with liberal special interests on illegal immigration over Louisiana voters and President Trump.

REALLY ANGRY

The spot includes footage of President Trump at his rally on the eve of the primary election where he expressed his anger that, under Governor Edwards, Louisianans are taking a backseat to illegal immigrants. Edwards’ campaign is being propped up by left-wing activists and organizations that support open borders and amnesty. He has previously stated that under his administration, the state would “support all of the people here” with taxpayer-funded benefits, whether they are in the state legally or illegally. He opposed efforts to ban funding for sanctuary cities, and does not stand fully with the president on securing our borders.

“From opposing efforts to ban sanctuary cities to giving taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal immigrants, John Bel Edwards has made it clear that he is too extreme for Louisiana,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar. ”Louisianans stand with President Trump in support of strong border security, not with John Bel Edwards and the radical activists that are propping up his campaign.”

Script for “Really Angry”

President Trump: “I’m really angry at John Bel Edwards…taking money from open borders extremists”

Taking money from open borders extremists.

Free taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal immigrants.

Edwards even opposed efforts to ban funding for sanctuary cities.

And Edwards opposed President Trump’s full immigration plan to secure our borders.

President Trump: “John Bel Edwards lied to the people of Louisiana. You’ve got to vote John Bel Edwards out.”
