WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) today announced Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has been elected to serve as RGA Chair, and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will serve as RGA Vice Chair for 2024. The election occurred at the end of RGA’s 2023 Annual Conference, and both governors will assume their positions immediately, serving for a one-year term.
“Republican governors are reminding the nation that common sense, conservative policies drive economic prosperity and expand opportunity, security and freedom — changing lives for the better,” said incoming RGA Chair Governor Bill Lee. “I thank Governor Kim Reynolds for her exceptional leadership as RGA Chair over the past year, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to support incumbent Republican governors and elect more to our ranks.”
“I’m honored to be elected to this position and to work with my colleagues to ensure the RGA’s efforts in 2024 are successful,” said incoming RGA Vice-Chair Governor Brian Kemp. “RGA has consistently been the most effective political organization in the country, and under Governor Lee’s leadership I know we will continue to take our message to every state on the map. I’m looking forward to working with him in the effort.”
Joining Governor Lee and Governor Kemp in RGA’s 2024 leadership are the following governors who will serve on RGA’s 2024 Executive Committee: Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt will serve as Policy Chair.
