RGA Congratulates Maine Governor Paul LePage on His Re-Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement on Governor Paul LePage’s victory in Maine:

“Four years ago, Maine needed leadership; Governor LePage delivered then, and he’ll continue to deliver in his second term,” said RGA Chairman Chris Christie. “Governor LePage’s leadership works for Maine, and the voters have rewarded him with four more years to create more jobs, care for Maine’s most vulnerable, and guide the state forward. The Republican Governors Association is proud to congratulate Governor LePage on his re-election.”

The Republican Governors Association was a key investor in Governor LePage’s re-election victory, spending $5.1 million supporting a paid media program, mail, and ground game efforts. The RGA ran 11 television ads in Maine detailing Governor LePage’s record of successful reform, and why Democrat Mike Michaud’s priorities of taxing Social Security and giving welfare to illegal immigrants were wrong for Maine.
