Under Governor Paul LePage’s Pro-Jobs Leadership, Maine Unemployment Rate Drops To 42 Year Low

GOP Governor Paul LePage’s efforts to bring jobs and economic growth back to Maine has gotten results for the people of his state, according to a new report from the Department of Labor.

Maine’s unemployment rate has now dropped to its lowest level in more than 42 years. LePage has cut Maine’s unemployment rate by more than half, dropping from 8% when he took office to just 2.9% today. It’s a stunning improvement in Maine’s economy.

Governor Paul LePage’s success is more evidence that fiscally conservative, pro-jobs policies drive real results for families and businesses. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on Maine’s future.
