GOV. TERRY BRANSTAD: REVITALIZING IOWA TO REVITALIZE AMERICA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today launched the next video of the American Comeback project, a national advertising effort designed to tell the success stories and accomplishments of Republican governors.
This week’s video features Governor Terry Branstad of Iowa, a conservative leader focused on reducing the burdensome influence of government to make his state more attractive to business and young people beginning their careers.

“We are reducing the cost of higher education and making it more affordable for Iowans because I know that education is the key to getting good job opportunities,” said Governor Branstad. “The biggest export used to be our children, and now, when the Lieutenant Governor and I meet with these young people, we find many of them are entrepreneurs. They want to start their own business. They want to stay in Iowa.”

“We’ve turned [Iowa] around. We’ve reduced the size and cost of government and focused on bringing good business and jobs to the state. We’ve set three records in the last year in terms of capital investments in our state, and this makes a real difference in the lives of not only the people that are unemployed that can find opportunities, but also the young people growing up,” Governor Branstad added.

“We’re working every day to revitalize Iowa as part of revitalizing the American economy. Republican governors are the ones that are leading America’s comeback,” Governor Branstad concluded.

In the coming weeks and months, the American Comeback project will grow to include more videos focused on individual Republican governors, their personal journeys and the progress they’ve made toward bringing prosperity to their states.
